Lucky or Not? The Answer Might Surprise You

Luck.

We talk about it like it’s a lottery ticket. Like some people are born with it, and the rest of us are left watching them win while we’re stuck in traffic, spilling chai on our white shirt.

But here’s a wild idea:
Maybe being lucky has nothing to do with the situation at all.
Maybe it has everything to do with how you look at it.

Because when life throws something unexpected your way, you always have two choices:
You can say “Oh no.”
Or you can say “Thank God.”

That tiny moment is the real turning point.
That’s where luck begins. Not in what happens, but in what you believe about what happens.

Let me explain.

Ever missed a flight and later found out there was a delay that would’ve ruined your next connection anyway? Ever gotten rejected from a job, only to stumble into something better a few weeks later? That moment when you say, “Wow, that actually worked out for me”that’s not random. That’s grace. That’s a hint from life that you’re being guided, even when it feels like a mess.

Now, most people call that coincidence. But those who know better? They call it alignment.

Here’s the thing: life is always broadcasting. It’s like a giant cosmic radio station, humming with possibility. But to hear the music, you’ve got to tune in.

Most of us are stuck in mental static, worrying, controlling, doubting. We get so caught up in how we thought life should go, we miss what’s actually unfolding. And when we don’t like what we see, we immediately label it “bad luck.”

But what if it’s not bad?

You know those days when everything feels a little off and you just know something’s going to go wrong, and then it does? That’s not the universe punishing you. That’s just you being a little too committed to your own bad vibe. But then there are days when you expect the best, maybe even irrationally and weirdly, things flow. Traffic clears up. The thing you lost shows up. You find an old note that says exactly what you needed to hear. We call that luck. But really, it’s just alignment. Trusting that things are working out, even when they don’t make sense yet. And somehow, they do.

The people we call “lucky” aren’t just people with good timing. They’re people who carry a quiet kind of faith. The kind that notices patterns. That pauses before panicking. That believes that life might actually be on their side.

It’s not about being naive. It’s about being open.
It’s about choosing to see meaning in the mess, and softness in the setbacks.
It’s about having the self-awareness to say, “Maybe this isn't what I wanted, but it might be what I need.”

So no, being lucky isn’t about stars aligning.
It’s about you aligning with a perspective of choosing trust over control.

And once you start choosing it, life starts showing up differently.

So maybe the question isn’t whether you’re lucky.
Maybe the better question is: What are you choosing to see?
