A Path to Inner Fulfillment: Discovering Joy in the Present.
On the evening of December 31st, something profoundly simple unfolded—a moment without plans, without guests, and yet, so full of meaning. As Earth completed another revolution, the world around me proclaimed a “new start.” Yet, I wasn’t chasing resolutions or grand gestures. At 5 PM, I found myself in the quiet comfort of home.
From my room, I could hear my husband cooking snacks, the soft sounds of eggs cracking and toast crisping. Gentle music played in the background. My daughter was helping him, cutting vegetables with her tiny hands, and their giggles intertwined like a melody. I sat with a warm cup of coffee, observing this ordinary moment. It struck me: this was bliss—not the fireworks of celebration, but the quiet glow of connection and gratitude.
In that stillness, I realized the profound beauty of the present moment. Life, in all its chaos, often blinds us to the simple joys that surround us. We rush, plan, worry, and strive, forgetting that the magic we seek is already here. It’s in the laughter of loved ones, the calm of a home you’ve built together, the privilege of sipping coffee in peace. These seemingly small moments are where the Divine whispers its presence.
This, I thought, is what spiritual awakening feels like. It’s not about control—neither of time nor outcomes. It’s not about excitement or worry. It’s about allowing yourself to simply be. On that evening, I didn’t run into my husband’s arms or shower my daughter with praises for their beautiful bonding. I didn’t laugh loudly or feel my heart race with excitement. Instead, I observed, quietly letting my heart fill with love and gratitude.
There was no drama in this moment, no extreme emotion. Yet, it was an elevated experience. It taught me that being blissful isn’t about doing anything. It’s about noticing. Noticing the happiness in the present, the privilege of being alive, the abundance of love and peace already surrounding you.
Spirituality, I’ve come to understand, isn’t always about intense meditation, manifestation practices, or yoga poses that stretch your limits. These can be tools, yes, but the true essence lies in letting go. When you stop forcing bliss, it flows naturally. Like waves in the ocean, calmness and peace follow when you surrender. Even amidst the storms of life, you remain the ocean—vast, deep, and unwavering.
When you observe the magnificence of creation without being swept away by it, you find your center. In this stillness, you discover depths within yourself that are boundless. The outside world, with all its noise and distractions, loses its hold over you. This is meditation—not holding on to anything, not even the events of a moment ago. Just watching, being, and letting it all pass.
Say to yourself: “Whatever I say, do, or act is in the Divine grace, through the Divine light.” By surrendering to the Divine, you align your actions and behaviors with a higher will. When you know that the Divine light fills you, how can darkness prevail? Everything becomes an expression of Divine grace, a dance of higher energies working in your life.
This belief unlocks magic—not the kind of magic that dazzles the eyes, but the kind that gives your heart the impetus to carry on as love itself. And this is the paradox: it’s not about being love or anything else. It’s about being nothing. In this nothingness, you find everything.
So, the next time you find yourself caught in life’s rush, pause. Notice the small joys. Let them pass without clinging. Let go of the need to label, control, or achieve. Just be. And in this being, you’ll discover that the Divine has been with you all along, in every laugh, every breath, every sip of coffee.
This is the Joy of Small Things—a gateway to the infinite.
